New Year Quest “Through Time and space”: our report

On December 23, on New Year and Christmas Eve, students of Southern Federal University took part in the New Year Quest organized by teachers and students of the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies.

To complete the quest, participants had to present the traditions of Christmas  and the end of the year  celebration that are common either in their native country or in the country of the language studied. Foreign students presented the traditions of Georgia, China, Colombia and Pakistan. In addition, Russian students made a presentation about traditional New Year films, which are the part of the celebration of New Year in Russia. The audience was particularly interested in the presentation of the film “Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!”.

We thank everyone who took part in our international Quest! We look forward to seeing you again next year!

Master's student of the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies won a prize in the International Olympiad on the socio-political texts translation

In the period from October 20 to November 17, the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Humanities of Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) and the translation agency AUM, with the information support of the Association of Teachers, held an International Olympiad on the Translation of socio-political texts from English, German and French into Russian. 

Congratulations to Anastasia Yakimenko, a first-year master's degree student of the 45.04.01 Philology program “Theory of Translation and Intercultural Communication” with a victory! Keep it up!

Anastasia was awarded a third degree Diploma in the nomination “Translation of a socio-political text from English into Russian”. She studies English as a second foreign language.
