On December 17, 2019, on the basis of the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies (SFedU) a scientific and methodological seminar with international participation "The Russian language in the international educational space" was held at SFU (online mode).
It was carried out in the video conferencing mode with the help of CISCO platform in the framework of the virtual university "World without Borders".
Not only teachers of the Russian as a foreign language department took part in the seminar, but also graduate and undergraduate students. Thanks to the simultaneous connection to the platform the participants from the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russian State Social University, Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Southern federal University were able to discuss theoretical issues of the functional grammar of the Russian language, teaching methods of Russian as a foreign language, applied aspects of teaching Russian to foreign students and innovative technologies in teaching Russian as a foreign language. Based on the results of the scientific and methodological seminar new guidelines were developed to improve the methods and techniques of working with foreigners in the international educational space.
A scientific and methodological seminar "The Russian language in the international educational space" will take place again and become a permanent platform for teachers of Russian as a foreign language from different cities and countries to discuss relevant issues in the theory and practice of language teaching and intercultural communication.
