SFedU delegation took part in the Forum of International Association of teachers of Russian language and literature in Cuba

On December 12-14, 2022 at the site of the University of Havana Russian World Foundation supported the International Forum “Russian Literature in Latin America: Ideas and Values for the Future of the World”. The forum brought together over 250 teachers and students, scientists (literary critics, linguists, sociologists, psychologists and teachers), writers, journalists and public figures from different countries: Argentina, Venezuela, Spain, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Russia, Uruguay and Ecuador.

The welcoming speech was delivered by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Cuba Andrey Guskov, First Deputy Minister of Education of Cuba Miriam Alpizar Santana, Advisor to the President of Russia on Culture and the Head of International Association of teachers of Russian language and literature Vladimir Tolstoy, President of the World Alumni Association Vladimir Chetiya, etc.

Professor Lyudmila Savenkova and associate professor  Irina Savchenkova represented Southern Federal University. They took part in all the events of the forum, spoke at the round table “Spiritual experience of Russian literature: what values are close to the Latin American reader?”. Irina Savchenkova shared her experience of teaching literature to foreign students of the preparatory department and Lyudmila Savenkova spoke about the program of additional education Relevant in the Russian language" for foreign teachers of Russian as a foreign language at one of the four presentation platforms specially allocated for SFedU. In addition, Lyudmila Savenkova gave a lecture “Are we different? Yes or no? Paremia as a mirror of Russian linguoculture” for students of the University of Havana. All the performances aroused considerable interest among visitors.
